Board meeting – 3 September 2022
The International Council for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (ICIAM) is an international society of societies, with members representing mathematics societies from all around the world. The annual ICIAM Board Meeting is held in a different international location every year. It is preceded by a two-day research workshop on applied and industrial mathematics. The purpose of this workshop is to facilitate scientific interaction between delegates beyond the administrative duties involved in council, and to allow mathematicians in the host country to interact with eminent internationally leading academics from all over the world.
The workshop will have a programme of 25 minute contributed research talks from delegates. There are no pre-invited speakers, with all speakers being selected by the organisers on the basis of submitted abstracts.
Attendance is not limited to ICIAM delegates and we welcome registrations from non-Board members although, for practical reasons, attendance will be capped at 50 delegates. The academic topics covered are potentially very varied, but, given the nature of ICIAM itself, will all be related by the underlying theme of applied and industrial mathematics. Previous workshops have included presentations from world-leading researchers in diverse areas such as optimization, tensors and linear algebra, scattering problems, integrable systems, visco-elastic fluids and dynamic indicators for the anatomy of the human body.
Call for abstracts
Contributed talks are invited on all aspects of applied and industrial mathematics.
These will be accepted on the basis of a one-page abstract which should be submitted by 12th August 2022 online at https://my.ima.org.uk/services.php?section=events
Authors will be advised of acceptance by 12 August 2022
