Abstract
The speaker is currently directing three national initiatives that are concerned with trying to build much needed research capability in operational research throughout the United Kingdom and this talk will describe these initiatives.
NATCOR
A national taught course centre for doctoral students in operational research
LANCS
An Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council initiative to build national research capacity in operational research
STOR-i
A new centre for doctoral training in statistics and operational research at the University of Lancaster
