Purchasing
When submitting your membership application, renewal or other order you are allowing the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications to use your personal details to fulfil your order. In the event of there being a problem with your order we will communicate with you via email, telephone or letter.
Only bookings for events, subscriptions to our publications and membership related services are provided via this website.
Transactions take place over a secure connection. Where applicable VAT is charged at the standard UK rate.
Cancellation and amendments
If you pay for a membership subscription, renewal or publication, you have in accordance with applicable EU and UK law a 7 day cooling off period during which you have the right to cancel and receive a refund. You don’t need to give a reason to cancel. If you do decide to cancel within the 7 days, we will refund your payment usually within 7 days, but no later than within 30 days of your cancellation. The Institute is necessarily committed to expenditure when places at events are booked and the following terms apply:
- Cancellations received in writing 5 weeks or more prior to the event will receive a full refund less £15.00 administrative handling charge.
- Cancellations received 3-5 weeks prior to the event, 50% of the fee will be refunded.
- Cancellations received less than 3 weeks prior to the event, no refund will be made.
Your statutory rights are not affected.
