Modern Cryptography

5 March 2013, 6.00pm

Modern Cryptography, Dr Richard Pinch (Cheltenham)

Abstract

Traditionally cryptography has been concerned with protecting secrecy of messages and was largely the domain of governments and the military.  Today we are increasingly all living our lives in cyberspace where security is an issue and we are using cryptography whether we know it or not!  In this talk we look at how mathematics, from the elementary to the advanced, is providing the elements of security in cyberspace.

Venue: Room G8, Main Building, Aston University, Birmingham, B4 7ET.

No charge is made to attend meetings and non-members are welcome.
