The IMA Journal of Management Mathematics (IMAMAN) invites the audience on a thought-provoking discussion regarding the future of last-mile logistics. The aim of the workshop is to discuss the current state of the art and future research needs in this important area, both from an academic and practitioner perspective.
The last-mile is an increasingly powerful force reshaping supply networks around the world. Customers wish to have on-time delivery of the products, which might be very difficult for Logistics Service Providers (LSPs) because of various challenges and uncertainties. At the same time, LSPs need to comply with the 2030 sustainable development agenda. There is a growing need to provide LSPs with relevant evidence, insights, strategies, and mathematical models to help them plan.
This workshop will bring together world-leading academic and practitioner experts to debate the boundaries of transportation research and consider how Mathematics may help address the opportunities and challenges that technology and innovation bring to customers and industry.
The workshop should be of great interest to academics, industry practitioners, relevant government departments, and other interested parties related to last-mile logistics.
