We are delighted to share the latest update from the KE Hub with IMA members. Whether you are working in a mathematics department, or in business, industry, government or a charity, read on to find out how you can access the KE Hub Triage workshops in the coming months.
For academics in UK mathematical sciences departments:
KE Hub triage workshops are interactive online scoping sessions that take place fortnightly from 10:00-11:30 on Friday mornings. In each workshop, a representative from business, industry or government presents a challenge and engages in informal discussions with interested academics from UK mathematical sciences departments. The aim is to figure out if the mathematical sciences can help to address the challenge, and if so, to identify who would like to take the challenge further, hopefully leading to new collaborations and projects.
Academics interested in participating in triage workshops can join the KE Hub mailing list here to receive all the latest information. Reminders are sent out in advance of each workshop and a list of all upcoming and past triage workshops can be found here. If you would like to join in, please contact your local KE Champion for the Teams link. If your department has not yet nominated a KE Champion, please contact kehub@newton.ac.uk to find out more.
For business (including charities), industry, and government departments:
The KE Hub has been launched to facilitate connections with university-based mathematical scientists from across the UK, and enable business (including charities), industry, and government departments (B.I.G.) to benefit from the power of cutting-edge mathematical ideas. We welcome engagement with all sizes of companies, all sectors, and all levels of mathematical expertise – you can sign up to become a B.I.G. Partner, contact kehub@newton.ac.uk to find out more. Becoming a B.I.G. Partner will grant access to the latest information and funding calls, as well as KE Hub opportunities including short projects and triage workshops.
Triage workshops are online scoping sessions that allow B.I.G. Partners to directly engage in informal discussions with university-based mathematical scientists from across the UK. In each workshop, one B.I.G. partner presents a challenge to interested academics. The aim is to figure out if the mathematical sciences can help to address the challenge, and if so, to identify who would like to take things further, hopefully leading to new collaborations and projects.
