Abstract: There can be many benefits to be gained from maintaining academic pursuits throughout your career, whether that be for personal or professional development. With “lifelong learning” now being a goal many people hold, we are interested in how that looks for mathematicians working in industry.
In this Virtual Maths Tea (VMT) hosted by the IMA Early Career Mathematicians Committee we would like to hear how you continue to learn mathematics whilst working in industry, government or charity. We will discuss resources, methods and tips for keeping engaged in mathematics study and research after leaving university and academia. If you consider yourself a lifelong learner, or would like to know how you can become one, we invite you to join us for this informal discussion where we can share our own opinions and experiences.
A Virtual Maths Tea (VMT) is an online event hosted by the Early Career Mathematicians committee where we invite participants to join us for an informal discussion about a topic related to mathematics or the mathematics community.
