Festival of Mathematics and its Applications 2019


The University of Greenwich Maths Centre is hosting Greenwich Maths Time, the 2019 IMA Festival of Mathematics and its Applications.  They will be presenting two days of exciting mathematical talks, workshops and hands-on activities.  The Festival and all its events are free.  Anyone is welcome to attend, but advance registration is required.

Workshops will be hosted by Takita Bartlett, Ems Lord, Maths Explorers and many more – on a variety of exciting and interesting topics.

Speakers will include James Grime, Jonathan Histed, Aoife Hunt, Bobby Seagull, Ben Sparks, Katie Steckles, Colin Wright and many others to explore unusual and surprising maths.

There will be events and activities suitable for school students at all levels.

Dr Richard Pinch (Vice-President, IMA) will also give a public lecture on Tuesday 25 June, on Computing the future: Mathematical challenges from computing and computational challenges from mathematics.

The Festival is supported by the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications, The OR Society, the Advanced Mathematics Support Programme, FDM and the University of Greenwich.

Greenwich also hosted the 2017 Festival.
