The Levelling Up Scheme, was piloted by the LMS thanks to a generous donation from Dr Tony Hill, and in collaboration with Durham University and the University of Leicester in 2021. In 2022, the IMA and other universities are getting involved. The scheme supports the provision of online tutoring and pastoral support for A-level mathematics students from under-represented and disadvantaged backgrounds. Levelling Up brings together undergraduate student tutors with A-level mathematics students who wish to improve their grades to enable them to study for a STEM degree.
More information about Levelling Up: Maths: https://www.lms.ac.uk/news-entry/19022021-1416/levelling-maths and STEM is available here.
