How the bicycle got its spokes, Philip Garsed (University of Cambridge)
Abstract
The humble bike is a miracle of engineering. But just how did we get from the Penny Farthing to Kevlar tyres? How are we able to ride a bike without falling off?
Philip Garsed, a researcher at Cambridge University, will tackle these and other questions in a talk that will be of interest to all who like bikes.
No charge is made to attend meetings and non-members are welcome.
