I am delighted that the Government has committed £6m over three years towards the establishment of a National Academy focused on the Mathematical Sciences in the Autumn 2023 statement.
With the creation of an Academy, the entire mathematical community will be able to speak with one voice on issues that impact it most, increasing its influence with government, industry, the media and the wider public. The IMA is proud to have been actively involved in initiating the formation of a “proto-Academy” through the Council for the Mathematical Sciences and is delighted to support its funding bid.
