An Evening with the IMA’s Early Career Mathematician Community
Wednesday 27th March 2024
Join us for a special event after the March Council meeting to highlight the work of the IMA’s ECM committee as we kick off the IMA’s 2024 celebrations which include the ECM’s 20th anniversary.
We will have a presentation and talks from members of the ECM Committee, Robyn Goldsmith – ECM Chair, Paige Pearson – Events Leader, James Van Yperen and Thomas Hobson. The presentation will include an introduction to the Committee, the achievements of the Committee thus far and the plans for the future, plus much more.
Being part of the Early Career Mathematician community can help you develop key personal skills to help you as your career develops. It also helps you build your professional network and make friends with mathematicians across the UK and beyond. Former ECM Karrie Liu will talk about her journey and how the Early Careers Mathematicians and the IMA have played a role.
The event will close with a free networking reception for you to network with current and former ECMs, Council members and the IMA’s professional staff. Hear more about our new mentoring platform, IMA Exponential, and a new way for members to help each other.
The event is open to all but please note that admission is by advance booking only on a first-come, first-served basis. The lecture and networking event are free to attend.
