Lessons to be learnt from mathematical models of T cells, A talk by Carmen Molina-París (School of Mathematics, University of Leeds)
Abstract
In this talk I will introduce the work that has been carried at the University of Leeds in the Mathematical Immunology Group. Of interest to us is understanding the mechanisms that regulate T cell mediated immune responses during infection and in cancer. We believe such an understanding will allow us to therapeutically manipulate T cell responses in the fight against viruses, bacteria and tumours. I will provide a few examples of mathematical models of T cells at the molecular, cellular and population levels and finish with a perspective on the role of mathematical models in adoptive T cell therapies for cancer.
