Abstract
Paper is a relatively cheap and readily available resource which allows you to bring mathematical concepts to life from across the mathematics curriculum; including fractions, algebra, proof, as well as geometry.
In this practical session you will have the opportunity to try ideas for yourself, as Sue shares tried and tested tasks suitable across the secondary curriculum. She will also share some of the research about why practical activity is so important for learning mathematics. She will make use of ideas in ATM’s excellent publication, Learning Mathematics with Origami.
For the session you will need some sheets of A4 paper and some paper squares (at least 10cm side length).
