About the Speaker
Alan Champneys is a Professor of Applied Non-linear Mathematics in the Department of Engineering Mathematics, University of Bristol. The first of his ‘Westward Ho! Musing on Mathematics and Mechanics’ series of articles was published in Mathematics Today in April 2017. He was awarded the 2018 Catherine Richards Prize for his brilliant article, Westward Ho! Musing on Mathematics and Mechanics: Permutation Poetry and Chaotic Collaboration.
