Maciej Matuszewski completed an MSci in Physics with Theoretical Physics at Imperial College London in 2014 and a PhD at the Durham University Department of Mathematical Sciences and Centre for Particle Theory in 2019. He is currently working as Technical Manager (Research and Teaching Facilities) at Durham Maths, in which role he assists with managing the department’s databases and computer network, but also has undergraduate teaching responsibilities.
Maciej was previously on the IMA Early Career Mathematician’s Committee as Conference Leader Designate, Conference Leader, Co-Opted Member and as Chair of the Committee. As part of this role he helped organise IMA ECM conferences at Durham, UCL, and Lancaster Universities. He currently also holds the positions of Co-Secretary of the North East Branch and Treasurer of the Early Career Member’s Group of the Institute of Physics, and has been heavily involved in outreach events for Durham University. In his spare time, Maciej enjoys reading, hiking, and helping to organise SF conventions.
