IMA National Best Maths Project Competition 2025

Please note that the deadline for nominations has now passed.

Following the success of our inaugural event, the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications (IMA) is proud to announce the return of the National Best Maths Project Competition for 2025. This prestigious national celebration recognises the most outstanding undergraduate project work in Mathematics, Statistics, and Operational Research from across UK universities.

About the event

Each UK university is invited to nominate their top scoring undergraduate (BSc or MMath) to represent them in this exciting academic showcase. The nominated student will present their project in a live online competition before a national panel of academic representatives and IMA staff.

Please note: if a student is nominated, then a member of faculty will also need to be part of the event as a grader.
