Foreword

The 13th IMA International Conference on Modelling in Industrial Maintenance and Reliability (MIMAR2025) was held in Nancy, France, from 8 to 10 July 2025. Since its inception, MIMAR has become a leading international forum for the exchange of ideas, methods, and experiences in reliability modelling, risk assessment, maintenance optimization, and their applications across diverse industrial sectors.

This year’s edition brought together around 90 participants from 18 countries, reflecting the truly international and interdisciplinary character of the conference. The programme featured keynotes addresses by distinguished experts, technical sessions covering a wide spectrum of topics – from stochastic modelling and optimization to AI-driven predictive maintenance and digital twins as well as stimulating discussions that fostered collaboration between academia and industry.

The contributions collected in this volume represent the state of the art in modelling approaches for reliability, risk and maintenance. With 3 keynotes, 30 full papers and 31 extended abstracts, the proceedings offer valuable insights into current challenges, methodological advances, and future directions for research and practice.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the authors for their valuable contributions, to the reviewers for their thorough evaluations and constructive feedback, and to the chairs and members of the Technical Programme Committee for their commitment to shaping a high-quality scientific programme. We also warmly thank the IMA team, together with the local organizing team and volunteers, whose support and dedication made this conference possible.

We hope that readers will find in these proceedings both inspiration and practical knowledge to advance the field of reliability, risk and maintenance engineering.
