Governance Roles :
An independent consultant with over 23 years of analytical experience in the defence and security sector, delivering projects, leading teams, building new capabilities and supporting training exercises. Daniel joined the IMA in 1996 and holds C.Math (2002) and Fellow status (2011). Daniel was involved with the Wessex, and the North Hants and Surrey branches of the IMA (chairing the latter). Daniel was involved in the early development of the Early Career Mathematicians Group (and its second chair), hosting both 2006 conferences; Daniel served on the IMA council 2006-2015 and received a long service award in 2008. Daniel was the Chair for the ‘Mathematics of OR’ conferences 2023 and 2021, event between the IMA and OR Society celebrating the Mathematics of Operational Research, and Programme Chair for the 2017 and 2019 conferences. Daniel is also a Fellow of the Operational Research Society (2015), and an Alumnus of the Royal Academy of Engineering’s Enterprise (RAEng, SME Leader 2019). Daniel is currently the Events/Conferences Committee chair, and hopes to support the IMA in creating a number of useful and exciting events for the IMA and mathematicians across the UK and beyond.
