Early Career Mathematicians Committee Role

The Immediate Past Chair’s role is to support and advise the new chair and committee, and provide continuity to the running of the committee and group as a whole.

Eduard completed his BSc and MSc in Mathematics at the University of Barcelona in 2010 and completed his PhD at the University of Sussex in 2018, on Bayesian inverse problem techniques for quantitative biology.  Between March 2018-August 2021 he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Genome Damage and Stability Centre at the University of Sussex, where he developed mathematical models to study genome replication.  Eduard is now a Lecturer in Statistics at the University of Kent. He is passionate about interdisciplinary applications of mathematics, both within academia and industry, and he has participated in many collaborative events, including research workshops in Tanzania and Botswana.

He joined the IMA in 2017, and has participated in several IMA-organised conferences, including the IMA ECM Conference in London in November 2018.  His main goal is to contribute to the work that the IMA is doing to engage with the young mathematical community.
