Early Career Mathematician Committee Role:

The Vice Chair supports the Chair, arranges committee meetings, and records and circulates committee discussions and actions. The Vice Chair is also the Chair Designate and is expected to take over as the new Chair the following year.

Sophie (she/her) is a PhD researcher at Royal Holloway, University of London, within the CDT in Cyber Security for the Everyday. She earned a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Warwick, including an Erasmus year at Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich, Germany. Her research focuses on real-world applications of cryptography and privacy-preserving technologies, particularly outsourced private set intersection and the security and privacy of perceptual hashing in tools for reporting image-based abuse. She is passionate that maths can be for everyone, and is active in maths outreach and EDI initiatives at the university.
