Can batteries transport us to a greener future? The IMA / BCS / IET Christmas Lecture by Professor David Greenwood (Advanced Propulsion Systems WMG, University of Warwick)
Abstract
Battery electric vehicles are proposed as the answer to air pollution and carbon dioxide emissions, but are they really “zero emissions”, and will they deliver the range, durability and charging convenience that we need?
The lecture will explain why batteries are the key to this, how they work, how they are made, their role in future transport, and the research being done to improve them.
Programme
Light refreshments will be available, before the lecture, from 18:30. The lecture will begin at 19:00. Guests are most welcome to join us for a light buffet and networking after the lecture.
