IMA Celebrates Chartered Week 2026 | Share Your Chartership Story!
We’re delighted that the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications (IMA) is supporting Chartered Week 2026, taking place 23–27 February a national awareness campaign celebrating the impact of chartered professionals across all sectors.
Chartered Week brings together professional bodies, employers, registered professionals and those aspiring to achieve professional registration all united under the theme of “Celebrating Trusted Professionals.” The aim is to recognise how Chartered status stands for expertise, ethical standards, leadership and public confidence in today’s world.
Open Letter on the Value of Professional Standards
As part of this year’s campaign, the IMA joined over 40 professional bodies in signing a joint Open Letter to the UK government. The letter published by the Chartered Week Alliance, highlights how chartered and professional bodies contribute to public trust, strong ethical standards, a highly skilled workforce and economic growth.
It calls on ministers to work with professional bodies to promote professional registration and Chartered status, including within public services, as a way to strengthen confidence in the services people rely on. You can read the full Open Letter on the Chartered Week website.
