Mathematical Modelling Supporting Design & Integration

11th December 2014, 6:30pm

Mathematical Modelling Supporting Design & Integration, Anne Morris (BAE Systems)

Abstract

As the cost of development of prototypes increases the use of modelling and simulation is becoming increasingly important. This talk will outline some of the reasons behind the use of mathematical modelling and the overall integration challenge faced when developing complex fast jet aircraft. The talk will then focus on the fuel system detailing system representations, mathematical model creation, use and simulation & visualisation.

Anne Morris is an active member of the IET Lancashire & Cumbria and supports the recruitment and development of engineers through the BAE Systems education programme and mentoring. After joining BAE Systems in August 1999 as a flight systems engineer working in the area of mathematical modelling of fluid systems Anne found that aircraft engineering was a broad and interesting area that built upon her Mathematics qualifications. Her career has, to date, included a number of Engineering roles within BAE systems including Mathematical Modelling of Fluid Systems, Fuel Systems design, Stealth and Support Research, and Management of Typhoon & Tornado Ground Equipment. More recently Anne has lead Quality across Combat Air Support (Supporting Harrier, Jaguar, Tornado and Typhoon in service).

Venue:  Mitchell and Kenyon Cinema, Foster Building, UCLAN, Preston

No charge is made to attend meetings and non-members are welcome.
