About the role
Branches Chair is a role focussed on the development and promotion of Branches, including bringing in new ideas for activities for the branches. With secretariat support, the Branches Chair organises one meeting of Branch committee representatives a year, usually in-person with hybrid attendance as an option. The meeting hears from each of the Branches in turn and collaboratively discusses any issues raised. The Chair should ensure that diversity is discussed.
Occasionally, the Branches chair may be called upon to give advice and encouragement to those wishing to start a branch. When taking on the role, it can be beneficial to visit as many branches as possible, but an inability to do this should not preclude an individual form taking on the role.
