Howard Haughton announces the launch of the IMA’s EDI Strategy 2024 – 2029
As Chair of the IMA’s Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Committee, I am delighted to share the launch of our EDI Strategy 2024-2029. This strategy reflects the IMA’s steadfast commitment to fostering an environment where all individuals in the mathematical sciences feel valued, respected, and empowered to achieve their full potential.
The EDI Strategy outlines our approach to embedding equity, diversity, and inclusion across all aspects of the IMA’s work, from education and outreach to professional recognition and governance. It represents not just our aspirations but our actionable steps toward creating a more inclusive mathematical community, recognising that the full benefit of EDI extends beyond our organisation to society as a whole.
We recognise that EDI is a journey requiring continuous learning and improvement. Our strategy is a living document, with clear metrics to track progress, ensuring that our intentions translate into tangible impact.
I encourage all members to explore the strategy and join us in our mission to make the mathematical sciences more inclusive, equitable, and reflective of the diverse world we serve.
