International Working Group

Developing our Communities, Branches and Global Reach

As part of the IMA's 2023-2028 Strategy, the IMA is exploring ways to create opportunities for knowledge sharing, networking, CPD and mentoring at local, regional, national and international levels.

We will be launching an International Working Group in Autumn 2026 to start developing key activities to achieve our goals including: 

• Support existing and prospective branches in UK and overseas and provide networking and professional development opportunities to our members around the world
• Reciprocal agreements and partnerships with applied and industrial mathematics societies, including routes for their members to become Chartered Mathematicians
• Expand our links with universities, research institutes and mathematical organisations in the UK and around the world, poviding opportunities to share good practice and deliver joint events 
• Build on our online event programme, creation of on-demand content and help increase overseas IMA members’ participation in our activities
