Schools & Further Education Committee
The Institute of Mathematics and its Applications (IMA) Schools and Further Education (S&FE) Committee addresses the key challenges and priorities in mathematics teaching and learning across secondary and further education. Advising the IMA on educational developments, the Committee shapes policy, responds to consultations, and gives mathematics educators a strong voice within the sector.
With a focus spanning from Key Stage 3 through GCSE, post-16, and further education pathways, the Committee also plays a role in facilitating smooth transitions into higher education, collaborating closely with the IMA Higher Education Committee.
Its activities include developing recommendations on qualifications, curriculum development, and the integration of technology in teaching, as well as building partnerships across the mathematical sciences community. The Committee is committed to promoting the benefits of IMA membership to mathematics teachers and educators.
