IMA Mathematics 2009

Date: Thursday 23 April 2009 Location: Staple Inn Hall, London The IMA is holding a major one day conference on mathematics and its applications for the present day on 23 April 2009 at The Institute of Actuaries, Staple Inn Hall, High Holborn, London. The aim of the conference is to bring together people with an interest in mathematics and its applications to consider current issues in the subject. The conference topics will cover mathematics education at school and higher levels; research topics in mathematics; and industrial applications of mathematics. These topics will be of interest to both mathematicians and those working with mathematicians as the presentations will address the impact of the work rather than emphasise its technical nature. The conference will give an opportunity for informal discussion between people who are interested in a variety of areas in mathematics. Details of the speakers and the programme are shown below.
