Joint IMA / MathsJam event

Joint IMA / MathsJam event, with Katie Steckles (Organiser, Manchester MathsJam)

MathsJam is a monthly opportunity for people to come together and share mathematics puzzles, problems and games – anything they think is cool or interesting.  MathsJam meets regularly in Manchester at Pie & Ale in the Northern Quarter, but we're moving our January MathsJam to the University building for a special event in collaboration with the IMA, and we'll have puzzles and proofs to play with.  You're welcome to join us to watch short talks, meet other mathematics fans, play some games and come with us to the pub afterwards. We are also looking for people to give snappy 5-minute presentations as part of the evening – introducing a problem, an idea or something people can puzzle over.

Refreshments will be available from 6:00pm.  No charge is made to attend meetings and non-members are welcome.

Organisers: Bill Lionheart, Danielle Bewsher and Katie Steckles
